Super Twisting Sliding-Mode Control of DVR With Frequency-Adaptive Brockett Oscillator

This article presents a super twisting sliding-mode control (ST-SMC) for single-phase dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs). Unlike the conventional first-order controller, proposed ST-SMC technique eliminates need differentiating compensation in sliding surface function while keeping merits of SMC. As consequence employing ST-SMC, continuous signal is achieved from which pulsewidth modulation (PWM) signals can be generated. In this case, inverter operates at constant switching frequency. The stability analysis also presented. reference needed estimated by using Brockett oscillator-based frequency-locked loop. Theoretical considerations are verified through experimental results under ideal and distorted grid conditions. obtained show that has good performance maintain load desired level sag, swell, harmonically voltages.
